Vaginoplasty is a Female Genital Cosmetic Surgery to tighten vaginal muscles and tone vaginal walls. Multiple childbirths may cause lax in vaginal muscles and result in a dilated vaginal cavity making intercourse less satisfying for women.

Procedure

Vaginoplasty is performed under sedation. During the procedure, pelvic floor muscles that support the vagina are repaired and excess vaginal mucosa (vaginal lining) is removed. This restores vaginal grip, tone of the vagina and size of the cavity.

Getting back to normal

• Vaginoplasty is a low-risk procedure, with little chance of long-term complications.
• The patient can usually walk comfortably and resume sexual activities within 4-6 weeks of the surgery.
• The patient may experience some spotting and discharge for two to three weeks after surgery.
