Otoplasty is a surgical procedure that can be performed on an outpatient basis with local anaesthesia and sedation or as an inpatient procedure under general anaesthesia. Based on the requirement, the cartilage is either cut out or scored and excess skin is removed.

Getting Back to Normal

Surgical stitches are usually removed within five to seven days of the surgery. Mild discomfort associated with initial treatment can be easily controlled with oral medication. It may take two to three months for the final results.
