Chin implants ensure a stronger jawline and an aesthetically balanced face.
Procedure
- The Chin Augmentation procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, under local or general anaesthesia.
- A small incision is made under the chin, and an implant is placed beneath the skin.
- An alternate treatment option for a receding chin is called sliding Osteotomy (also known as Genioplasty). This procedure involves permanent removal of a portion of the chin bone to re-balance the face.
Getting back to normal
The wound is covered with a small pressure dressing post surgery and pain medication is prescribed to control any discomfort. Swelling, tenderness, and numbness gradually subside within one to two months.
